Wine and Cheese Pairing with Newport Wine Cellar

Calling all Wine Lovers!

Please join us for wine tasting on Friday, July  26th, 2024 at 6:30pm at Newport Wine Cellar. Cost is $40 per person

In this fun interactive tasting of four different wines, we will identify stylistic distinctions of Old World/New World wines.  These differences are often climate driven, but also have been created by the choices made both in the vineyard and in the winery. Maria will lead you through a series of tasting techniques to help you become a more savvy wine shopper. While will hone our tasting skills, we will be enjoying sipping on some delicious wines.

The tasting will be accompanied by small, elegant bites to highlight the value of enjoying food with wine and to explore some basic pairing techniques.

Everyone will leave with some tasting and pairing notes and a strong sense of what styles of wine you prefer.

Maria Chiancola is the owner and wine director of Newport Wine Cellar.  She holds a PhD in English Literature, and advanced WSET.  She is a writer, chef, and wine maker, and she loves to share her wine knowledge to make wine more fun and approachable for everyone.
