About the Scholarship Program The Military Spouses of Newport are proud to honor military dependents for their hard work and dedication toward academics and their community. Scholarship awards are supported by proceeds from The Ship's Bell, as well as generous donations from First Command Educational Foundation. The Ship's Bell, located in the Naval War College's Conolly Hall, is over 36 years old. It is operated solely by volunteers, who kindly give of their time, to enable MSON to provide yearly scholarships and other charitable giving. For 2024, the committee proudly awarded 15 scholarships of varying amounts totaling $18, 750. |
