Join the Military Spouses of Newport as we explore the railways!! The Rail Explorers: Rhode Island Division is presented by the Newport and Narragansett Bay Railroad. Enjoy an unforgettable scenic ride along historic Aquidneck Island and spectacular Narragansett Bay.

Families included- bring your family to enjoy this event! MSON Members should book as MEMBERS and family should be booked as NONMEMBERS. 

Lantern Ride (updated)

Enjoy the Southern Circuit in the cool of the evening, the silvery light from the moon will illuminate your journey on the historic steel tracks! A romantic, lantern lit ride and a one of a kind experience.

Bring your own refreshments to enjoy fireside at our private Bayside Picnic area along the bluffs of the Narragansett Bay before departing back to the station by rail explorer.  MSON will provide items for s'mores! 

A 6 mile, round trip tour and an unforgettable experience.

Tour duration: 2 hours.

Every Rail Explorers rider must sign a liability waiver before riding the rails. You and your group can do this online now, using the eWaiver form.

Rail Explorers will operate rain or shine, provided it is safe to do so. Rail Explorers reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours due to adverse weather conditions if operations or participants are at risk. In the event of cancellations or rescheduling by us, your payment will be refunded in full, or applied to another tour. Ticket holders who cancel due to weather are subject to the cancellation policy above. No shows (including those arriving late for a scheduled departure) are not eligible for a refund.
